Meet Morgan Turland

Salmon Arm is home. It’s where I’m raising my family, where I work, where I volunteer, and where I’ve built connections with people throughout our community.

​

I’m a mom, a bookkeeper, an education professional, a volunteer, and someone who genuinely enjoys getting involved. Whether it’s organizing a community event, advocating for families, working with local organizations, or simply lending a hand when something needs to get done, I’ve always believed that being part of a community means contributing to it.

​

I value common sense, good conversation, and people who are willing to challenge their own ideas. I’m curious by nature, I ask a lot of questions, want to understand how things work, and believe good decisions come from listening to different perspectives before making them.

​

Outside of work and volunteering, you’ll find me spending time with my family and friends, curling, skiing, enjoying the lake, reading a good book, or taking advantage of everything that makes Salmon Arm such a great place to call home.

I’m not running because I want to be a politician. I’m running because I care about this community, I enjoy bringing people together to solve problems, and I believe I have something valuable to contribute at the council table.

  • Local bookkeeping and accounting business owner

Governance & Advocacy

  • Experience working with elected boards and senior leadership

  • Reviewing budgets, policies and governance decisions

  • Advocating on behalf of families and community members

  • More than ten years working in public education

  • Experience supporting students and families with diverse needs

  • Background in Engineering design and drafting technology

Each of these experiences has strengthened my ability to listen, collaborate, understand budgets, navigate complex issues, and make thoughtful decisions- the same skills I want to bring to Salmon Arm City Council.

Through years of organizing community events and working with local organizations, I have developed the collaborative skills necessary to bring diverse perspectives to the council table. I am ready to apply my common-sense approach and curious nature to the challenges facing our community.
